“5/5 stars – I chose the rating of 10 because your instructors are amazing and so caring. Shri Devi class is the greatest and people are a family. Everyone is in a safe space. Shri takes time and really allows you to work on all part of you especially your mind which is so important these days. Thank you Third Root Community and all your instructors. This is the best thing that has happened for my husband Frank and I. Please stay safe and healthy.” – Lisa J. on 6/8/2020
“5/5 stars – I really enjoyed the class! The teacher was great, the class was challenging but intentional (vs. classes where you just kind of throw yourself around to work up a sweat), and I really loved being in a (virtual) queer space. All around a great class.” – Frances M. on 8/24/2020

Currently, all of our programing is held virtually. We welcome requests for language interpretation (including closed captioning, ASL, Spanish, and additional languages spoken) for our non-physical movement based classes & workshops* with at least 72 hours notice. Please contact us directly se so we can arrange for interpretation that meets your needs: firstname.lastname@example.org or 718-940-9343.
We’re located at ground level with one step up to our main entrance and no steps at our wheelchair and scooter accessible entrance (please call ahead to arrange for someone to open the door). Our Community Room space where most programs occur is accessible for wheelchairs and scooters, as is our upstairs private treatment room. However, our bathroom is not currently wheelchair or scooter accessible. As a stop-gap measure, accessible restrooms are available to our community across the street from the nearest intersection at Flatbush Food Co-Op (1415 Cortelyou Road, Brooklyn).
Please note that scented oils and products are sometimes used as part of the modalities we practice, especially massage and herbal medicine. Third Root is never scent free – but our community room where yoga, community acupuncture, events, and workshops take place is low scent, though organic dried sage may be burned to energetically clear this space between sessions and classes. Treatment rooms have air filters regularly in use throughout the day. Our cleaning products are natural and scent-free whenever possible. We have simple filter masks available on request, but encourage those who may need a mask to bring your own.
Our practitioners, teachers and facilitators are invested in making your experience as accessible as possible. Please contact us for more information or to discuss your needs.
