About Finn Oakes
I offer remote sessions for queer and trans clients, using the power of plants and practices to support mental and emotional well being through a trauma-informed lens. I also offer consultations to support gender affirming surgery with pre- and post-op care. I was trained as a clinical energetic herbalist and I also have extensive experience with medicinal plants as co-owner of Steadfast Herbs- a small herb farm located on occupied Ohlone land in the greater Bay Area.

I graduated in 2015 from the Clinical Energetic Herbalism program at the Blue Otter School of Herbal Medicine and I am very grateful to have been trained as a practitioner by Karyn Sanders and Sarah Holmes. I have also been trained as a Flower Essence Practitioner through the Flower Essence Society, have studied hands-on energy work with Vanissar Tarakali and taken courses in somatics with Strozzi Institute.

Gender Affirming Surgery Support

I offer T4T care to help support your physical healing from gender affirming surgeries while also addressing your mental and emotional well being. I offer a space to talk through your desires and concerns, resources about what to expect and how best to prepare for surgery, suggestions for how to care for yourself through the process with foods and supplements and possible rituals or embodied practices to bring more ease and agency to the process. For an additional fee, I offer at-cost herbal packages or free herbal recommendations for continued care.
Theraputic Herbalism Consults for Mental Health

I primarily work with queer and trans clients who are experiencing depression, anxiety, panic, OCD, chronic stress, burnout, PTSD, CPTSD, mood swings, PMS, insomnia and other states of distress, named or unnamed. My role as a practitioner is to recognize the innate wisdom of every client, and to use the power of plants, practices and intuition to support you in shifting patterns and building greater resiliency. After each appointment I will send you an individualized herbal formula, as well as recommendations for practices to further support you in this work. (Herbs are included in the cost.)
